For first trimester procedures, the actual abortion process takes only 5 to 10 minutes. Depending on gestation, the abortion process might take around 15 to 20 minutes for second trimester. Nevertheless, the appointment for abortion would last for 3 to 5 hours. This would involve paperwork, blood drawn, laboratory tests on blood and urine, ultrasound examination, discussion about options, birth control, expectations during and after the abortion, understanding the medications and the abortion procedure and giving informed approval, taking medications or injections, a pelvic examination, which is followed by the medical procedure and recovery. After the abortion, in-clinic recovery time of 20 to 30 minutes is required. Women opting for sedative are required to stay longer in clinic for recovery.

Nevertheless, at room temperature, expressed milk can be stored for as long as 8 hours without getting spoiled. You can also store the breast milk in a refrigerator in a sterilized plastic container extending it’s life to 3-7 days.

Other people also freeze their breast milk which can be kept for up to 3 months. Hope that helps.

Are you trying but not getting pregnant? Do you wonder how long it takes to get pregnant? This question isn’t easy to answer because it depends on you and your partner. Some easily achieve pregnancy at the first try, but it requires more time and effort for others. However, it usually shouldn’t take more than a year for a woman to become pregnant.

Of couples who’re having unprotected intercourse,

50% of get pregnant after 121-154 days (3-4 months)
70% get pregnant after 273 months (9 months)
85% get pregnant after 356 days (12 months / 1 year)

If you and your partner have tried longer than a year without success, you should make an appointment at a gynecologist to find out what’s the problem!
